29 Weeks

How far along: 29 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: Still nothing new…I’m going to start needing to retire a few shirts though for the time being because my belly is starting get big enough to wear it feels like I’m exposing the bottom half of it sometimes lol…Hesston teases that now I know what it’s like to have a belly shirt…ha!
Stretch marks: Thank goodness I am still not seeing any!  I need to keep up a good moisturizing routine though cuz baby girl is gonna really start packing on size these last 2 months!
Sleep: Luckily still doing ok for the most part.  I’m still fighting through some upper back pain, but it’s not unbearable (yet).
Best moment this week: Getting the sweetest gift from a friend who has since moved out of Logan!  She was such a doll, and sent me some very thoughtful gifts through Amazon (I sure do love that site haha), and it was such a fun surprise to get in the mail!  So excited to be able to use them with baby girl, knowing they’re from Auntie Jen :)
{The baby bath kit and baby nail file I've always been wanting...thanks so much Jen!}
Miss anything: Um, nothing really coming to mind.  We’re pretty content over here for the time being!  I guess I could still say I miss all our grad school friends though, and having dinner with them like 3 nights a week haha.  It’s been nice to Skype with a few of them to keep up to date with each other at least!
Movement: Ohhh ya….she is getting all sorts of crazy in there :)  It’s still so exciting every time I feel her flipping around, pushing out her feet or bum, and getting hiccups multiple times a day.
Food cravings: Not craving much…sometimes chocolate ice cream or a drink from Swig hits the spot though.  There’s a “knock-off” Swig as well in Logan called Chugz, and their Tropical Dew is to DIE for!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: Most definitely :)
Gender prediction:  A little miss
Labor signs: Not exactly, but I kinda had an inkling of what COULD have been Braxton Hicks contractions.  Still not sure if it was just stretching/growing pains, or if my uterus actually was getting tight from a Braxton Hicks, but we’ll see.  I have another appointment in 2 weeks so I can ask my doctor and make sure everything is normal.  Definitely not ready for her to come just yet, so hopefully nothing else happens!
Belly button in or out: Still in, and it sometimes seems like it’s going deeper in again as my belly is getting bigger…kinda weird!
Wedding rings on or off: On and still with wiggle room
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but also with some anxiety!  I had a dream the other night where it was time to have the baby, and I was getting the numbing shot for the epidural, and it just all felt too real, and honestly freaked me out!  I’m just trying to take things one day at a time so I don’t psych myself out!

Looking forward to: Hopefully getting another ultrasound in a few weeks!  My doctor likes to do one more around 32-34 weeks to just check on baby’s growth, and see her positioning.  I would LOVE to get to see her one more time before she makes her big debut!

28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: Still doing what I can to fit into what I have.  Exercise pants are still working great, but my t-shirts are getting tighter and tighter haha
Stretch marks: Still no!  I made Hesston check under my belly where I can’t see anymore just to make sure lol
Sleep: Doing ok, but my back really has it’s painful moments :(  The other night, I just had to roll onto my back cuz I couldn’t take it anymore!  I definitely see some more chiropractor visits in the future
Best moment this week: I got to have a much needed pedicure!  It was so nice to finally get my toes summer-ready with all of the warm weather we have been having in Logan!
{Not the best picture, but my feet and toes look so much prettier than they did!}

Miss anything: I’m missing being able to go in the hot tub lately!  It would feel so good on my back, but I’ll have to make do with other pain relief methods for now…good thing Hesston has been very willing to give me back massages :)
Movement: Yes, tons!  She is getting even stronger, and I have felt a lot of full-on flipping around and some major kicking!  I also can now say that I have felt her have hiccups a few times!  It basically feels like a twitching/little heart beat pulsing in your stomach…so cute!
Food cravings: Nothing major lately.  Me and Hesston have been trying to eat healthier though, and we got some salmon (for the omega-3’s) at Sam’s Club the other day, and it was so yummy!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, still ok there.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, and more and more people comment on it all the time now haha
Gender prediction:  Baby girl :)
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Still pretty happy, especially since we are just inching closer and closer to Hesston graduating, and this baby being born!
Looking forward to: A fun little trip we have planned for St. George in a couple weeks!  I am watching my friend Kim’s kids for a few days while they’re gone on a cruise, and I am just excited for the warm weather, and getting out of Logan for a little while :)

{Side Story}:  So I had my glucose test at my doctor’s appointment this week, and I am happy to report that my results came back normal!  So as far as how the morning of the test went, everything went as planned…I ate breakfast at 7:45, drank my orange drink at 8:45 (it wasn’t too bad – tasted just like flat orange soda like everyone said it would…it was suuuper sweet though and kinda burned my throat going down haha), and then we got to the doctor’s office by 9:45 to have my blood tested.
{The delicious orange glucose drink}
I’ve never been too bad with needles, so the blood draw wasn’t terrible, (except I wore a tight long sleeve shirt - wish I woulda thought that one through haha - and had to take it part-way off for them to be able to get to my arm to draw my blood!)  After that I had to get the Rhogam shot, and they do that one high up on your butt basically, so I had to stand bearing all my weight on one leg while she put the Rhogam shot in the other…ouch!  It burned pretty good going in haha.  Anyways, the nurse then left, and we waited for the doctor to come in.   I sat on the exam bed, and kinda started feeling sweaty and nauseous.  I laid down, hoping it would pass, but I started feeling worse!  I was laying there fanning my face with my hand, and luckily there were some magazines in the room, and Hesston came over and started fanning me with one.  It definitely helped, but I was just feeling so sick and hot that I was miserable!  Luckily, it only lasted 5-10 minutes, and by the time the doctor came in, it had mostly passed.  I’ve had a couple other similar experiences to this (it’s basically just a vaso-vagal response where my body overreacts when things happen to it that it doesn’t like haha…I guess it didn’t like that Rhogam shot!)  Now let’s just hope it handles childbirth ok!!

27 Weeks

How far along: 27 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: I’m hoping to get a few more things possibly, especially since I am probably going to be getting a lot bigger in my third trimester!
Stretch marks: Nope, still ok on that front!
Sleep: Still good, luckily still sleeping through the night most of the time.  The chiropractor did mention that having to sleep on my side all the time could be part of the cause of my back pain…definitely can’t wait for that symptom to be gone!
Best moment this week: Had a few this weekend!  Finally getting to go to the chiropractor and get an adjustment.  I LOVED the special pillow they use for pregnant women so that I could lay on my stomach…too bad he said it cost like $300 lol.  Also, on Sunday night, my brother Derrick was up visiting for just a night from Vegas, and he got to feel her kick!  She doesn’t get going crazy too often, but she started kicking a TON when he put his hand on my belly!  It was so exciting for him to get to feel it, and for it to be more than a couple small kicks…such a special moment J  Now if only she would do that for Hesston haha.
Miss anything: Still probably having all of our closest grad school friends here in Logan with us!  One of the couples came back from Michigan for a sister’s wedding this weekend, and getting to hang out with them again was SO good and much needed!  These people became our family, and having them gone has definitely made this semester not quite as fun.  Good thing we are getting close to being done!
Movement: You betcha!  She is getting stronger and bigger for sure, so it’s SO cool to feel when she gets moving!  I’ll admit there were a couple days after having felt her really good where I actually didn’t feel her much, and it made me kinda nervous.  The nurse had told me to come in anytime for a quick heartbeat check anytime I was worried, so I couldn’t help but take advantage of this just for some reassurance.  Once I got into the room and she put the Doppler on my belly, she found her heartbeat almost immediately, and soon after, she started kicking the Doppler wand through my stomach!  It was really funny, and the nurse was saying the baby was probably like “hey I’m in here and I’m fine, leave me alone!”  Haha so glad baby girl is doing ok J
Food cravings: You probably could guess it by now…cold cereal lol.  Lately it’s been Chocolate Mini Wheats (the extra little ones…give them a try!) Other than that, salad and sandwiches sound good a lot of the time.  I guess it’s good I mostly crave healthy food!
Kellogg's® Frosted Mini-Wheats Little Bites® Chocolate cereal

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still not really, but I sometimes feel a little yucky when I go too long without eating, and get heartburn when I overeat.
Have you started to show yet: There’s definitely no hiding it!  People still ask me all time when I’m due…I’m just glad my baby is growing!
Gender prediction:  Baby girl
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In, still flat
Wedding rings on or off: On, and hopefully will be for a while
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, especially because the weather has FINALLY been amazing!  Who would’ve thought I would ever think of 60 degrees as heaven lol.
Looking forward to: My doctor’s appointment this week!  I get to do the much anticipated “Glucose Test” where you drink the sugary orange drink and check for gestational diabetes.  I also have to get my Rhogam shot at this appointment since I have negative type blood.  I hope it doesn’t hurt too bad!

26 Weeks

How far along: 26 weeks, 6 days

Maternity clothes: Still wearing what I have so far.  It truly is a blessing to work in a gym where I can just wear workout pants every day.  Maxi dresses work great for church, and most of my shirts and pants I can still make work (like the outfit in the picture haha)

Stretch marks: None yet.  I am nervous for this last trimester though since I know that’s when you grow the fastest!

Sleep: I’m still doing ok!  I haven’t been willing to bite the bullet and buy those cool pregnancy pillows, but I’ve got a system down using the pillows I already have (let’s be honest, it’s because I would rather spend all of my money on baby clothes lol)

Best moment this week: Hesston can finally feel her move!  She has definitely gotten bigger, and much more active.  It’s so fun to let him put his hand on my belly and let him feel her kicking around in there…I think it helps make it even more real for him, and makes him that much more excited to meet her!

Miss anything: Being able to sit on my couch comfortably!  Me and Hesston vegged out big time this weekend watching Netflix…we just needed a lazy weekend (who doesn’t?), but boy my back paid for it!  It constantly aches whenever I try to relax on the couch (mostly my upper back, which I think is weird).  Our chiropractor appointment had to get rescheduled since the day we had the first appointment, there was a big accident in Sardine Canyon so we couldn’t make it down in time.  Good thing I have it this Friday though, so hopefully they can help me!

Movement: I definitely do now!  She is big enough to where I can feel very obvious movement (from the inside and the outside, which is cool), and she seems to be awake more, so I feel her more often throughout the day.  She still likes to push out to the front or sides, and you can tell, cuz there’s a super hard “lump” instead of it being soft.  Sometimes she’ll get going crazy, and I feel several kicks or “jumps” in a row…so fun!

Food cravings: Still all kinds of cold cereal…I swear we ate like 10 bowls this weekend while watching TV lol.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, feeling great!

Have you started to show yet: Yes, I can’t even try to hide it now haha.  I get a lot more people asking about it, and it’s really fun…people are so nice to pregnant ladies!

Gender prediction:  GIRL

Labor signs: Nope

Belly button in or out: Still in

Wedding rings on or off: Still on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty happy.  Definitely ready to find out our future plans with Hesston and his career since he is graduating with his second Master’s degree in 2 months.  I taught Relief Society on Sunday, and had such an appropriate topic…”Waiting on the Lord” (ha).  We have definitely had our patience tested with this whole job search we’ve been going through, but I am doing everything I can to just enjoy the unknown, and be happy and grateful for everything else going right in our life (like having an easy pregnancy…believe me, I’m aware of how lucky I got!)

Looking forward to: Just getting to meet her finally, and put her in all of her cute clothes (that I’ve been trying to refrain from buying lol).  I’ve waited longer than I originally thought I would to have a baby, so I am greatly anticipating her arrival :)
